Palm Spring’s very own “The Mark & Tony Show,” a TV talk/variety show featuring the talents of longtime friends, Marcus Lantero and Tony Pomponio, will start taping their program live each Wednesday at 5 p.m. at Oscar’s Palm Springs, one of the desert city’s most popular restaurants/live entertainment venues. Owner Dan Gore says that the public are invited to the free tapings, which air the following Thursday at 1 p.m. on KDFX Fox Channel 11, Dish Network and Direct TV both on Channel 33, and on Frontier Channel 8.
Mark and Tony first started performing together in 2016 on the “Wise Guy’s Cooking Show,” another local program that ceased production due to COVID. The pair’s comedic banter and natural chemistry, which locals so loved, led them to produce their own talk/variety program and “The Mark & Tony Show” was born. The show will have guests including local talent and even major name entertainers visiting Palm Springs or who are in town performing at live venues like Oscar’s.
“We are so excited to welcome aboard local legends Mark and Tony who will share their talents in front of a live audience each Wednesday at 5 p.m. right here at Oscar’s Palm Springs,” says Gore. “Situated smack dab in the middle of our great city, Oscar’s offers the perfect backdrop for their form of entertainment. We look forward to welcoming members of our local community and tourists, alike.”
Oscar’s Palm Springs is a restaurant/bar/venue situated in the center of the desert city. It is open for dinner nightly and lunch during the high season. It boasts an eclectic menu and full bar. It has gained a reputation for its Bitchiest Drag Brunch on Sundays and weekend Tea Dances that draw hundreds from the LGBTQIA+ community who enjoy dancing to vintage Disco music. On the more provocative side of Oscar’s entertainment lineup are Mimosa Men Saturday Brunches featuring professional male dancers who shed their clothing as guests enjoy a wide variety of dining options along with the popular Champagne beverage. Its “An Intimate Evening With…” series that draws celebrities from yesteryear such as Dionne Warwick, the cast of “Knot’s Landing,” Frankie Avalon and Sandra Bernhard to the desert offers an alternative to the desert’s myriad entertainment options.
