Guest house will host 3-day, 2-night experiences in June and August with artists Traci Bartlow and Rosa Johnson aka Malikia

OAKLAND, CA / ACCESSWIRE / May 21, 2024 / Traci Bartlow, also known as "B-Love," today announced that her exclusive B-Love's Guest House will be offering the its new "Stay. Experience." package, which combines a two-night unique getaway with an immersive art experience. The package includes a gallery experience and reception. The first "Stay. Experience." will be in June and will feature Bartlow's exhibit "Oakland Picture Lady: Tale's of a 90's Girl." In August, the guesthouse will present a "Stay. Experience." with Rosa Johnson aka Malikia, who is renowned as "The First Lady of Braids."

The "Stay. Experience." package offers guests a celebration of Hip-Hop and Black culture. Bartlow and Malikia will each deliver an artist talk. Guests can participate in a mini photo shoot and serve as the artist's muse. A short augmented reality experience enables the guest to engage with select artworks. Everyone will also receive a frameable art postcard to commemorate their stays.

Bartlow is a performance and visual artist and community organizer. The guest house represents a unique extension of her lifestyle of wellness and creativity. The comfortable two-story house lets guests choose from seven bedrooms, three bathrooms, two kitchens, two living rooms, a beautiful urban garden oasis, a sun deck, and a performance stage. Guests who come to enjoy the authentic Oakland experience are offered a self-serve breakfast, premium free Wi-Fi, an available full kitchen, and a washer and dryer on site. The 3-day June experience, billed as a "Tale of a 90's Girl." , will feature a historical collection of exclusive fine art photographs, collages, and short stories of Bartlow's compelling life experiences in the 1990's. At that time, Bartlow was a Hip Hop Photojournalist who attended some of the most iconic shows and concerts of the era. Her highly acclaimed photography collection has traveled the country and sparked hip-hop nostalgia from an era that produced some of the genre's greatest hits.

The August experience will immerse guests in "Straw into Gold," Malikia's first solo exhibit in over 40 years. The artist shared, "Across the diaspora, we are weaved together with braids, plaits, and dynamic patterns of our past, present, and future. Braids are universal, crossing time and traveling across the space of our crowns." Malikia, an instrumental Artist who created elegant hairstyles that spanned the 1970s through the early 2000s, maintains the African American diasporic tradition of Ancient African Hair Sculpture through braiding intricate and elaborate patterns with beadwork.

Bartlow continued, "I have cultivated a unique lodging experience that reflects my background as an African American woman, with roots stretching back to Black farmers in Texas. I have been immersed in social justice activism and the cultural renaissance of the Bay Area."
