Bidirectional Human Interface Ushers in Age of Cyborg

By: PRLog

Today, there are a number of new technologies that can be used to create bidirectional HCIs. One technology that is becoming increasingly popular is natural language processing (NLP). NLP allows computers to understand and process human language. This means that users can interact with computers and intelligent machines using their natural language, such as speech or text writes tech leader, James Dean, Director SCS Business Development Services.

CLEVELAND - Aug. 10, 2023 - PRLog -- The traditional human-computer interface (HCI) is unidirectional. The user inputs commands to the computer, and the computer outputs information to the user. However, with the advent of new technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning, it is now possible to create bidirectional HCIs writes technology leader, James Dean.

A bidirectional HCI is a system in which the user and the computer can both input and output information to each other. This allows for a more natural and intuitive interaction between the user and the computer. It's the true entanglement of machine and human in the evolution of the Cyborg. We are now on the cusp of extraordinary biotech innovations.

Here are some specific examples of how bidirectional HCIs are being used today:

  • Virtual assistants: Virtual assistants, such as Amazon Alexa and Apple Siri, use bidirectional HCIs to interact with users. Users can give voice commands to virtual assistants, and the virtual assistants can respond with text, speech, or actions such as retail shopping, office tasks and even create administrative documents etc.
  • Self-driving cars: Self-driving cars use bidirectional HCIs to interact with their environment. The cars can use sensors to detect objects and obstacles, and they can also communicate with other vehicles and infrastructure. This allows the cars to make decisions about how to navigate safely and efficiently.
  • Robotics: Robots are increasingly being used in a variety of industries, such as manufacturing and healthcare. Robots can use bidirectional HCIs to interact with humans and their environment. This allows robots to be more precise and efficient in their tasks interacting with human co-workers in real-time applications says James Dean.
These are just a few examples of how bidirectional HCIs are being used today. As these technologies continue to develop, we can expect to see bidirectional HCIs become more widespread and used in a variety of different applications.

Note a few leading companies leading development of bidirectional human interfaces ...
  • Galea
  • Google
  • Microsoft
  • Apple
  • Samsung
  • Amazon
  • Nauto
  • Magic Leap
  • Oculus
  • Tesla
  • Toyota

So, the future of human-computer and intelligent machine interaction is bidirectional. As these technologies continue to develop, we can expect to see bidirectional HCIs become more widespread and used in a variety of different applications. This will lead to a more natural, intuitive, and engaging user experience with extraordinary healthcare applications.
