Ocean Exchange will feature ten finalists who will compete for two $10,000 and one $25,000 awards, all for sustainable oceans and ocean shipping.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Oct. 14, 2021 - PRLog -- Ocean Exchange will feature ten collegiate finalists in its annual innovation competition in Fort Lauderdale Oct 24-26, 2021.   The finalists will compete for two $10,000 and one $25,000 awards, all for solutions that support healthy oceans and sustainable ocean transportation and goods movements.   The awards are funded by Broward College, Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation, and private Ocean Exchange sponsors.

The finalists are:

Aegean: Florida Atlantic University,  University of Texas-Tyler, and University of Rochester.
Ambient Energy Generator for Environment-Friendly Underwater Acoustic Networks.

Algeon Materials:  University of California-San Diego.
Plastic Alternative from Kelp.

E-Wave: Columbia University.
Wave Energy to Power Aquaculture Operations.

Jet Dock Systems: University of Miami.
Coral Reef Restoration.

Nuzhdin Kelp Farms: University of Southern California.
Giant Kelp Aquaculture.

Ocean Pharma: Valdosta State University.
Medicine from the Sea.

Ocean Rescue Alliance: University of Florida.
Marine Conservation and Restoration Non-Profit.

Shinkel Systems: University of Pennsylvania.
Robotic to Minimize Fish Waste and Multiply Shelf Life.

Team SCUPPERS:  Rhode Island School of Design.
Aquaculture Sites on Offshore Wind Farms.

WeavAir: University of Toronto.
Vessel Emission Monitoring.
