CertNexus Updates Cyber Awareness Credentialing Program, CyberSAFE®

CertNexus releases updated cyber awareness training and credentialing program, CyberSAFE, to help organizations protect against cyber threats.

(PRUnderground) May 3rd, 2022

CertNexus, the leading provider of vendor-neutral, emerging tech certifications and micro-credentials, has updated its CyberSAFE cyber awareness training and credentialing program. With 85% of breaches involving a human element (Verizon 2021 Data Breach Investigations Report), organizations recognize it is not enough to invest only in security solutions but to also ensure that all users are equipped with the knowledge to be cyber safe.

Per a recent study, 81% of organizations around the world have experienced an increase in email phishing attacks since March 2020. While a single click can lead to a multi-million-dollar breach in seconds, the responsible employee may not even know they made a mistake. Many end users are not aware of the dangers accompanying today’s most common cybersecurity threats such as phishing, much less how to detect them. CyberSAFE helps ensure that users can identify the common risks associated with using conventional end-user technology, as well as how to safely protect themselves and their organizations from security risks in office or when working remotely.

This program, designed for all users of computers, mobile devices, networks, and the Internet, enables them to use technology more securely and minimize digital risks, regardless of technical ability. Organizations benefit from CyberSAFE by including it within their cybersecurity compliance program, which not only assists to reduce risk but also cybersecurity insurance premiums.

“As we migrate to hybrid work solutions, employees can no longer be entirely dependent on IT and Security personnel to protect their devices and your company data. Validating that your employees are CyberSAFE is equivalent to deputizing all your employees as first line cyber professionals,” said Megan Smith Branch, Chief Product Officer and Certified Ethical Emerging Technologist (CEET).

CyberSAFE is offered globally through CertNexus’ Authorized Training Partners, counting two hundred in over fifty countries, and online self-paced. Upon the successful completion of the credentialing assessment, an individual will earn a CyberSAFE micro-credential, validating their knowledge to operate safely within their organization’s digital environment. Complimentary reporting for organizations is also available to verify compliance with cybersecurity policies.
