Baltimore Nighthawks, PNC Bank Continue Corporate Sponsorship For 2022
The Baltimore Nighthawks announced that PNC Bank will continue as a corporate sponsor for the 2022 season.
A member of the Women's Football Alliance (WFA), the Baltimore Nighthawks was formed in 2007 to teach women in the greater Baltimore area the sport of football. Since then, it has grown to attract talented athletes throughout Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and D.C., with the purpose of elevating women's tackle football to the forefront of women's sports.
Tanya Bryan, chief executive officer of the Baltimore Nighthawks, said of the sponsorship renewal, "We are excited to continue our relationship with PNC Bank. This sponsorship allows us to provide the best resources for our athletes while expanding our support of Baltimore-area activities for youth and others."
The extension of the PNC relationship comes at a time when small businesses, like the Baltimore Nighthawks, continue to deal with the impact of COVID-19. Business owners have been challenged to think creatively while navigating higher costs for supplies, material shortages, staffing shortages, loss of event venues and other property, as well as ever-changing COVID protocols.
"As a Main Street Bank, PNC is committed to strengthening the economic vitality of the communities where we live and work," said Laura Gamble, PNC regional president for Greater Maryland. "Sponsoring the Baltimore Nighthawks for a second year to help women and local youth initiatives in Greater Baltimore is aligned with our corporate values and benefits all of us. When families and individuals thrive, we all succeed."
The goal of the Baltimore Nighthawks is to provide a safe and productive environment that enables women to learn and apply the principles of teamwork, discipline, dedication, and sportsmanship. The team works to facilitate the development of strength and character in everyone that participates. The Baltimore Nighthawks also have demonstrated a commitment to supporting various charities, and youth and community engagement programs.
"Over the years, multiple youth programs have been eliminated, leaving children with limited options for after-school activities," Bryan said. "PNC's sponsorship helps address this community need by allowing us to create opportunities for youth programs and events. The support of PNC Bank during one of the most trying times in modern history is something for which I am forever grateful. I look forward to the future and greater collaboration."
