Ole Smoky Distillery Announces Beverage Industry Veteran Jane Morreau to Their Board of Directors

Ole Smoky Distillery, the most visited distillery in the world and #1 moonshine brand in the U.S., announces today the appointment of Jane Morreau as a member of their board of directors. Morreau is an accomplished senior executive with over three decades of experience in financial management, technology, operations, and business strategy, in retail consumer products within the beverage and food industries.

“At Ole Smoky, we make it our mission to continue to attract the best-of-the-best in the industry, and we are honored to have Jane Morreau join our board of directors,” says Robert Hall, CEO, Ole Smoky Distillery. “Jane is an innovative and dynamic executive that possesses a leadership style hallmarked by a people-first mentality. We are grateful that she chose to have a seat at our table.”

Morreau most recently served as executive vice president and chief financial officer of Brown-Forman Corporation, a publicly traded, Fortune 1000 global consumer alcohol beverage company, where she managed $3.5 billion in revenue across 170 countries. During her 30-year career there, she also served as a senior vice president and chief production officer where she was responsible for the company’s supply chain, research and development, packaging, quality assurance, and environmental sustainability. Over the course of her career, she utilized technology, people, and industry insights to enable organizational growth and operational excellence. In addition, she tackled complex business problems, including capital allocation, portfolio management, mergers and acquisitions, digital transformation, international expansion, and shareholder communications, as well as corporate operations, technology, finance, and accounting.

Jane earned a Master of Business Administration degree and a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce from the University of Louisville. She is also a Certified Public Accountant, a member of the Kentucky Society of CPAs, and a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors.

“I have admired Ole Smoky for years and watched them rise to be one of the fastest growing spirits brands in the country,” says Jane Morreau. “When this opportunity became available, it seemed like a terrific opportunity to get involved with a company that I respected. I look forward to becoming a trusted business advisor and adding to their great momentum in the spirits industry.”

Ole Smoky first launched its moonshine products in 2010, shortly after Tennessee legalized the distillation of moonshine in 2009, followed by the launch of their whiskey products in 2016. As the first legal moonshine in East Tennessee, the brand has grown exponentially over the past 13 years. The company now employs more than 900 people, makes a wide range of moonshines and whiskeys in four distillery locations across the state, and hosted more than 5.3 million visitors in 2022 alone.
