LetsGetChecked Enables Health Plans to Increase Medicare Star Quality Ratings by +0.5 Stars

Health plans in partnership with LetsGetChecked show higher preventive screening rates and increased Star quality ratings

LetsGetChecked, a global healthcare solutions company serving top health plans, employers, and government agencies, announced today that their clients achieved higher preventive screening rates and increased Star Ratings for 2022 Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) H-contracts. By using LetsGetChecked to identify and test at-risk member populations for Colorectal Cancer Screening and Diabetes Care, these clients have achieved a Star Rating increase of 0.5 Stars and nearly 1 full Star, respectively.

Star Ratings are released from CMS on an annual basis. CMS uses a five-star quality rating system to measure Medicare beneficiaries’ experience with their health plans and the healthcare system. The program has played a pivotal role in improving the patient-provider relationship by helping patients determine the best Medicare Advantage and Medicare Advantage prescription plan offered in their area, and enhancing quality of care. A 1-star rating improvement can, on average, lead to a year-over-year 8% to 12% increase in plan enrollment.1 Improving from a 3-star to 4-star rating can increase revenue between 13.4% and 17.6% through increased enrollment revenue and additional bonus payments.2

“LetsGetChecked is thrilled to help our clients receive top tier recognition from CMS by achieving higher preventive health screening rates and an increase in Star quality ratings for their member populations,” said Peter Foley, Founder and CEO at LetsGetChecked. “This significant achievement is a testament to LetsGetChecked’s tireless dedication to closing care gaps and improving health outcomes for Medicare beneficiaries who rely on health plans.”

Though the overall average Star Rating fell for a second year in a row–going from 4.14 (2023) to 4.04 (2024)–health plans that partnered with LetsGetChecked outperformed health plans that did not by nearly a 1 full Star for Diabetes Care and 0.5 Stars for Colorectal Cancer Screening.3 These health plans’ ability to lift their ratings exemplifies LetsGetChecked’s commitment to continuously improving its services to ensure its patients receive the best possible care.

“The tangible impact that LetsGetChecked is having on our partners' Star Ratings is truly incredible,” said Addison Giannini, Senior Vice President of Health Plan Sales at LetsGetChecked. “Having spent over a decade in population health, there are very few interventions that I have encountered which move the needle as dramatically as LetsGetChecked does while simultaneously fostering a positive member experience. Our team is eager to play a part in the success of these plans, and we hope to continue down this path for years to come.”

This news comes as LetsGetChecked continues to deliver on its mission to empower people to live longer, happier lives by providing the tools to manage health from home through health testing, genetic sequencing and insights, virtual care, and medication delivery for a wide range of health and wellness conditions.
