Fivetran Attains HITRUST Implemented, 1-Year (i1) Certification to Manage Data Protection and Mitigate Cybersecurity Threats

Certification validates Fivetran’s commitment to support protection of highly sensitive information, including healthcare data

In a demonstration of its industry-leading security posture, Fivetran, the global leader in automated data movement, today announced it has earned certified status by HITRUST for the Fivetran Automated Data Movement Platform in all of its cloud regions worldwide serving Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Azure customers.

The Fivetran data platform centralizes all of a company’s data into a cloud data lake, lakehouse or warehouse with 99.9% guaranteed uptime so that businesses can quickly and easily get the insights they need to accelerate innovation, improve decision-making and increase productivity across their organization. Fivetran’s business value has been validated via a recent study by IDC, a global provider of market intelligence and advisory services. The study found that Fivetran customers saw an annual cost savings of over $177,000, achieved $1.5M in average productivity benefits, and realized a three-year return on investment of 459%.

Fivetran also has the most comprehensive privacy, security and compliance program of any cloud ELT platform on the market – providing enterprises with the secure, reliable data foundation they need to get accurate, trusted data that generates positive outcomes.

HITRUST Implemented, 1-year (i1) Certified status demonstrates that the Fivetran platform is leveraging a set of curated controls to deliver a complete security program that broadly protects against current and emerging threats, worldwide. HITRUST certification is widely considered the gold standard in satisfying HIPAA’s strict security requirements. HITRUST is a certification that is trusted and recommended by many health networks and hospitals to manage security and data risks. HITRUST can help organizations address security and data protection challenges by using a standardized compliance framework assessment and certification process that builds upon COBIT, HIPAA, ISO, NIST and SOC 2.

“The HITRUST i1 Validated Assessment is a powerful tool for cyber-aware organizations such as Fivetran,” said Robert Booker, Chief Strategy Officer, HITRUST. “HITRUST i1 Certification provides measurement, implementation, and performance assurance of information security controls. Congratulations to Fivetran for earning HITRUST i1 Assessment certification and demonstrating the operational maturity of their cybersecurity program.”

In tandem with this achievement, Fivetran also announced today the Fivetran Trust Center, a user-friendly portal designed to provide companies with easy access to Fivetran's comprehensive security and compliance certifications, including SOC 1, SOC 2, PCI DSS, ISO 27001, CyberEssentials and more.

“Fivetran’s reputation spoke for itself. We knew it could move our large — and growing — volumes of data from all of our sources securely,” said Trenton Huey, Senior Director of Data at Vida Health. “We didn’t even evaluate other solutions.”

“At Fivetran, we are equally committed to driving new efficiencies for our customers as we are to providing ironclad security that goes above and beyond,” said Tom Conklin, Chief Information Security Officer at Fivetran. “In a world of ever-increasing cyber attacks and data regulations, customers need transparency and trust more than ever from their suppliers. We’re proud to have earned the prestigious HITRUST certification and to have launched our Trust Center to make our customers’ lives easier.”

Fivetran’s fully-managed data platform moves more than 2,000 TB of data monthly, managing more than 1.3 million schema changes. The company provides 24/7/365 global support with 99.9 percent guaranteed uptime. Fivetran runs in all three of the major cloud service providers (Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, and Microsoft Azure).

Fivetran recently announced the expansion of its global cloud regions across North America, Europe and Asia Pacific, providing customers in highly regulated industries with more options to deploy the provider of their choice while satisfying data sovereignty requirements, with fine-grained data governance and access controls. Fivetran’s 26 cloud regions ensure data is securely kept within the region from which it’s deployed.

Additionally, Fivetran recently expanded key security features like private networking and customer-managed keys to Google Cloud – rounding out support across all major clouds – and continues to expand secure networking and authentication options. With these advancements, Fivetran provides global enterprises with secure data movement across multiple architectures and use cases.
