SVP of Operations Dodge to Succeed Retiring President and Founder John Edelson
Cambium Learning Group, a leading provider of award-winning education technology and services for K-12 markets, today announced that John Edelson will retire on February 6 after 19 years as president and founder of Time4Learning, an award-winning online homeschooling curriculum. Cheryl Dodge, SVP of product, education, and operations at Time4Learning, will succeed Edelson as president. Edelson founded Time4Learning in 2004 and the company became part of Cambium Learning Group in 2018.
As founder and president of Time4Learning for nearly two decades, Edelson created one of the first technology-based curriculums that focused solely on homeschooling. By designing innovative educational software, Edelson brought his vision to life by reimagining curriculum to be more interactive and impactful. Time4Learning made it possible for the homeschooling community to move beyond traditional textbooks to access hundreds of engaging online learning activities and lesson plans to enable student-paced education. Today, Time4Learning serves students in every state in the country. Edelson also created Time4Writing, VocabularySpellingCity, and Science4Us.
Dodge has been SVP of Operations at Time4Learning since March 2022. She has a background in business management, product development, and instructional design, primarily in education technology. She began her career as a classroom teacher for elementary, middle, and high school. Throughout her edtech career, she has expressed her passion for the learner by building innovative PK-12 products and creating transformative learning experiences. Before joining Time4Learning, Dodge was the Chief Product Officer at Edmentum, leading product strategy and portfolio development. Her career also spans across notable education brands including: Pivot Learning, CTB/McGraw-Hill, Scholastic and DreamBox.
“Cheryl has the experience and the passion to carry forward our commitment to providing homeschooling — and all families — with engaging and effective, online learning experiences,” said Edelson. “In working with her over the last year, she has impressed and inspired us all with her leadership skills and her ability to move the strategy, team, and product forward.”
“For nearly 20 years, Time4Learning has been a leader in the homeschool space thanks to John’s vision and commitment to creating a program that meets the fundamental desires of homeschooling families: flexibility; anytime, anywhere learning; and an engaging online curriculum,” said Dodge. “As Time4Learning’s new president, I’m excited to continue working with our passionate, dedicated team.”
“Congratulations to both John and Cheryl as they each begin important new chapters,” said Ashley Andersen Zantop, Chairman and CEO of Cambium. “I am excited for Time4Learning’s future as Cheryl steps into her new role. Her deep experience and commitment to the experience of every K - 12 learner will amplify the inspiration, energy and impact of the Time4Learning and Cambium communities.”
