ATC, an industry-leading manufacturer of aluminum RVs and trailers, today released its inaugural list of Top 10 Underrated National Parks to Visit. In a 2022 survey of more than 750 campers across the U.S., ATC identified lesser-known national park destinations that avid campers count among their favorites.

This press release features multimedia. View the full release here: https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20220406005193/en/

1. Mount Rainier National Park; 2. Canyonlands National Park; 3. Voyageurs National Park; 4. Cuyahoga Valley National Park; 5. Shenandoah National Park; 6. Mammoth Cave National Park; 7. Everglades National Park; 8. Big Bend National Park; 9. Joshua Tree National Park; 10. Kings Canyon National Park (Graphic: Business Wire)

The Top 10 list was curated from survey results, excluding the most famous, exceptionally popular parks that regularly experience overcrowding, such as Yellowstone, Yosemite, and the Grand Canyon. Traveling to “underrated,” less-populated parks provide visitors a more secluded outdoor experience and helps reduce the environmental strain on the nation’s most visited areas.

According to the National Park Service, in 2021, of the 423 parks in the National Park System, 25 (6%) received more than 50% of the system’s total 297.1 million recreation visits. With the top 25 national parks becoming increasingly overcrowded, the recent ATC survey revealed alternatives for Americans to enjoy the outdoors and support beautiful, less-visited parks.
