By: via Business Wire

The former Digital River executive will fast track ESW’s direct-to-consumer leadership in these growing business categories

ESW, the world’s leading global Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) ecommerce company today announced its expansion into the consumer electronics, gaming, and software businesses. With its recent acquisition of Scalefast, ESW has added clients, including Logitech, Tile, Square Enix, and Hasbro to its robust portfolio of apparel, accessories, luxury, and cosmetics brands. As part of this new strategy, ESW announced that it has appointed Chad T. Johnson as Vice President of Sales, Electronics, Gaming, and Digital, a new role that will be a key component to accelerating ESW’s growth in these categories. Johnson will report to ESW Chief Commercial Officer for the Americas, Ahmed Naiem.

“ESW is committed to rapidly expanding into consumer electronics, gaming, and software verticals. In fact, our track record of executing high volume events for leading gaming publishers sets us apart in the industry,” said Naiem. “Chad brings deep knowledge and leadership expertise in these categories which will enable us to quickly augment our portfolio of apparel, accessories, and cosmetics clients. Our acquisition of Scalefast has opened new channels for us to rapidly deploy innovative technology to enable brands to bundle virtual and physical products, exclusive drops, and even create temporary storefronts for private sales and influencers-led new launches.”

Johnson brings nearly 30 years of sales and marketing experience in the consumer electronics, software and gaming industries to ESW. For the past 13 years, Johnson served as Senior Director, Global Strategic Accounts for Digital River, a privately held API-based ecommerce provider. While there, Johnson created new revenue opportunities, developed and deployed a new global mid-market division, and closed one of the largest deals in the company’s history. He graduated from Moorhead State University in 1994.

“I’m thrilled to be joining ESW and providing the incredible service it’s renowned for globally to the massively growing consumer electronics, software and gaming industry,” Johnson said. “This is an exciting time for all of these businesses as their DTC & B2B revenue channels grow at a record pace.”
