Maryland Physicians Care (MPC) Selects NantHealth’s Eviti Connect to Validate Treatment For Members with Autoimmune Diseases

Building on a long-term relationship with NantHealth’s Eviti Connect for Oncology, MPC commits to improving member care and managing costs associated with treating autoimmune diseases

NantHealth, Inc. (NASDAQ: NH), a leading provider of enterprise solutions that help businesses transform complex data into actionable insights, today announced that Maryland Physicians Care (MPC), an existing customer of the Eviti Connect for Oncology platform, selected NantHealth’s Eviti Connect for Autoimmune Diseases solution as the foundation for MPC’s new industry-leading digital drug authorization program for members living with chronic autoimmune conditions. Eviti Connect for Autoimmune Diseases will enable MPC to gain visibility into drug costs, support proper reimbursements, reduce denials and appeals, and minimize overall cost while increasing patient care.

“We continuously seek innovative ways to serve the people of Maryland by implementing high-quality, value-based, and cost-effective programs that improve care and overall health,” said Dr. Jonathan Keyser, PharmD, MBA, Director of Pharmacy at MPC, A Maryland Managed Care Plan. “We’re thrilled to roll out the Eviti Connect for Autoimmune Diseases platform to our provider network to enhance the medication approval process for members living with autoimmune conditions. Using the platform will help our members access their medications as needed.”

The new agreement allows MPC to extend the knowledge of their clinical teams with independent expertise, streamline authorization workflows for providers and internal staff and confirm that member care complies with medical policy, pharmacy policy, and step therapy requirements.

“At NantHealth, our mission is to help providers and payers expedite the path to appropriate care and reduce wasteful spending, and our collaboration with MPC embodies this mission,” said Ron Louks, Chief Operating Officer at NantHealth. “We are excited to enable MPC’s provider network to efficiently determine treatments that meet plan requirements at the point of care so members can access treatments for autoimmune diseases when needed.”

NantHealth’s Eviti Connect is a software-as-a-service (SaaS), evidence-based decision support and treatment validation platform that gives providers and payers confidence to prescribe and reimburse high-quality, high-value care. It has helped payers and providers navigate the complexities of cancer care and has expanded its focus and targets autoimmune diseases aiming to save time on appeals and expedite optimal patient care while managing payer costs.
