Mission MightyMe, the Children’s Food Brand on a Mission to End the Food Allergy Epidemic, Announces Nationwide Launch in Target

Retail debut and recent capital raise will expand access to Nutty Puffs, making it easier than ever to follow pediatric recommendations to feed babies peanut foods early and often to help prevent peanut allergies from developing.

ATLANTA, GA / ACCESSWIRE / August 26, 2024 / Mission MightyMe, the children's food brand on a mission to end the food allergy epidemic, announces the launch of Nutty Puffs in select Target stores nationwide and on Target.com. This milestone marks the brand's brick-and-mortar retail debut, after four years of strong, direct-to-consumer, e-commerce sales growth that has more than doubled each year.

With nutritious and delicious, quick-dissolve nut butter puffs, MightyMe empowers parents to follow the latest pediatric feeding recommendations for early and regular peanut consumption. Nutty Puffs are the first and only pediatrician-developed puffs made with peanuts and multiple tree nuts in sufficient quantities, making it deliciously simple for parents to include a wide variety of nuts in their children's diets early and often.

"We started Mission MightyMe because the products we were looking for as parents didn't exist," said Catherine Jaxon, MightyMe Co-founder, Co-CEO and food allergy mom. "We partnered with the doctor whose research transformed feeding guidelines globally, to create the exact foods we wanted for our own children. Now with Nutty Puffs available on Target shelves, our science-backed snacks are accessible to more families than ever nationwide, which is a huge milestone for our mission."

The Target debut comes on the heels of the company's first capital raise, which closed in March 2024. The $2,350,000 raise and retail launch will propel the company's growth plan and mission to help families follow peanut allergy prevention guidelines that are based on the groundbreaking Learning Early About Peanut Allergy Study (LEAP), led by MightyMe Co-founder, Dr. Gideon Lack.

The 2015 LEAP Study found that most peanut allergies can be prevented with early and regular peanut consumption - a discovery that changed feeding guidelines around the world accordingly. The recent publication of the follow-up 2024 LEAP-Trio Study, also led by Dr. Lack, tracked babies from the original study into adolescence, and found that the tolerance developed from starting peanut foods in infancy endured through the teenage years - proving that early peanut consumption has a lasting protective effect.

"The evidence is clear that early introduction of peanut in infancy induces long term tolerance and protects children from allergy well into adolescence," said Dr. Lack, Head of Pediatric Allergy at King's College, London and MightyMe Co-founder. "This simple intervention will make a remarkable difference to future generations and cause peanut allergies to plummet. However, it can be challenging for families to follow the guidelines because nuts are a choking hazard for babies. We created Mission MightyMe to solve that problem - a big step towards ending the food allergy epidemic."

Loved by parents as a nutritious and functional alternative to traditional baby puffs and kids' snacks, Nutty Puffs come in four flavors that are all more than 50% nuts, dissolve quickly for babies and taste delicious for big kids: Organic Peanut Butter, Organic Peanut Butter Strawberry, Organic Peanut Butter Banana and Mixed Nut Butter (with 5 nuts). Made with simple, organic, non-GMO ingredients, all four SKUs have been awarded the Clean Label Project Purity Award, which tests for more than 200 different contaminants including heavy metals and toxins. Select Target stores will feature Organic Peanut Butter Nutty Puffs and Mixed Nut Butter Nutty Puffs for $4.79 per pouch.

"Closing our first capital raise and launching in Target are monumental and strategic steps in our growth plan," said J.J. Jaxon, MightyMe Co-founder, Co-CEO and food allergy dad. "These accomplishments move us closer to our goal of making Nutty Puffs a pantry staple, which we believe will have a transformative impact on children's health."

Just in time for back-to-school shopping, Mission MightyMe will be available on Target.com and in nearly 200 Target stores nationwide, in markets including Atlanta, San Diego, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Minneapolis, Boston, Las Vegas, Philadelphia, Houston, Austin, New York City, and Washington, D.C. Visit missionmightyme.com for the latest feeding guidelines, additional resources and guides for parents, and a Target store locator. Products can also be purchased on missionmightyme.com/shop and Amazon.
