Kids’ Social Learning Platform Releases Entire Course Library for Free

Kids' Social Learning Platform Releases Entire Course Library for Free
DIY removes paywall, gives free access to hundreds of online courses for kids (DIY) - The Social Learning App, the largest online interest-based community for kids, has released its curriculum of thousands of educational videos for free. Parents, teachers, and students across the globe no longer have to pay for DIY’s online courses, giving them access to how-to-videos and learning based shows.

Bhavik Rathod, former founding executive of Uber, and Tripti Ahuja, customer experience designer and former startup executive, acquired DIY last year. Their mission is to enable children to explore new topics they might not have the opportunity to experience in their corner of the world.

Rathod said he and Ahuja believe:

Kids in their formative years are most easily able to think outside the box. It then becomes imperative to provide them with spaces that enable them to explore anything that might pique their interests along with the right guidance to pick up real-life skills. Considering this and adding flexibility, improved virtual communication, and a global perspective to the mix, online learning becomes an obvious channel for growth. What makes DIY a little more special is that for every 10 minutes kids spend on the platform, they spend 30 minutes offline imagining, planning, and building.

As parents themselves, Rathod and Ahuja are passionate about holistic learning. Seeing how quickly their child adopted online learning during the coronavirus pandemic-induced lockdown convinced them the future of education would be hybrid. They wanted to provide kids the opportunity to digitally learn skills they may not otherwise have access to through traditional online schooling or homeschooling.

DIY enables kids between ages 7-13 to explore hundreds of skills across areas like STEM, art, crafts, gaming, and coding. In addition to its free courses, challenge videos, and shows, DIY offers premium features, including live workshops, contests, personalized profiles and digital portfolios where kids can post their projects while earning experience points and Skill Badges. They can also redeem these points against items listed in the DIY shop.

Kid safety is the utmost priority at DIY. It is moderated 24/7 across all timezones, COPPA compliant, and KidSafe-certified. Additionally, parents receive notifications each time their kid posts anything on the social learning app.

DIY’s free courses can be viewed and watched on the free app and can also be accessed online at To download DIY from the App Store or on Google Play, visit For access to additional premium features, visit

DIY connects kids who share interests because we know that creativity is contagious! We are the largest global interest-based community where learning happens through how-to videos, hands-on projects, and live interactive workshops. Kids can explore 100s of skills across areas like STEM, art, crafts, fun DIY stuff, gaming, coding - and everything in between. The platform enables thinking, learning, and creating in a safe environment that is moderated by experts and mentors 24/7, across all time zones.
