Item 5.02. Departure of Directors or Principal Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Principal Officers.
On August 1, 2011, Christopher L. Mapes, Executive Vice President of A.O. Smith Corporation and President of A. O. Smith Electrical Products Company, advised A. O. Smith Corporation (“the Company”) that he will resign from the Company effective August 31, 2011.
A copy of the Company’s press release is attached as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K and is incorporated by reference herein.
