NIRI Chicago Elects 2020-2021 Officers and Directors

The Chicago Chapter of the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI Chicago) has elected 14 officers and directors to its board for the 2020-2021 term, effective July 1.

“Our board includes new and longstanding directors who are all committed to driving best practices in corporate disclosure, governance and informed investing – and building on our chapter's reputation for excellence,” said Victor Jendras, incoming chapter president. “I look forward to working with this strong team of professionals who will serve as chapter officers and directors.”

NIRI Chicago Chapter board members for 2020-2021:

Officers

President: Victor J. Jendras, manager of sales, U.S., Q4 Inc. Jendras previously served as NIRI Chicago’s executive vice president, vice president of programs and IR Workshop committee member.

Executive Vice President: Michael A. Steele, CFA, IRC, vice president of investor relations, Zebra Technologies Corp. (Nasdaq: ZBRA). Steele joined the NIRI Chicago board in 2019 and has been a speaker at NIRI’s annual conference and NIRI Chicago events.

Vice President, Programs: Elizabeth R. Allen, CFA, staff director, investor relations, FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX). Allen has served as NIRI Chicago chairman, president, executive vice president, vice president of membership and NIRI annual conference committee member. She is a member of the NIRI Senior Roundtable.

Vice President, Communications: Maryellen T. Thielen, APR, ABC, president, Forest Glen Communications LLC. Thielen earlier was a NIRI Chicago chairman, president and executive vice president.

Vice President, Membership: Shep Dunlap, vice president of investor relations, Mondelēz International (Nasdaq: MDLZ). Dunlap is a member of the NIRI Senior Roundtable and formerly was a director on the NIRI national board and co-chair of the 2015 NIRI Annual Conference Committee.

Vice President, Treasurer: Martin A. Jarosick, CFA, IRC, vice president of investor relations, CF Industries Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: CF). This is Jarosick’s second year on the NIRI Chicago board. He previously served on the NIRI Atlanta board and 2019 NIRI annual conference committee.

Vice President, Sponsorship: Christine J. Hanneman, senior director of investor relations, ACCO Brands (NYSE: ACCO). Hanneman has managed the chapter’s sponsorship program since 2012 and previously was vice president, treasurer.

Directors

Chairman: Terri Anne Powers. Powers previously was NIRI Chicago’s president, vice president of programs, director, co-chair of the 2014 IR Workshop and NIRI annual conference committee member.

Jeremy Cohen, senior vice president, investor relations and financial communications, Edelman. This is Cohen’s first year on the NIRI Chicago board. He has served on the IR Workshop committee and was named a NIRI 40 Under 40 honoree in 2019.

Heather Anne Kos, CPA, IRC, vice president of investor relations, Univar Solutions (NYSE: UNVR). This is Kos’ second year on the NIRI Chicago board. Kos is a member of NIRI’s Certification Council and chair of the IR council of the Manufacturers Alliance for Productivity and Innovation (MAPI).

Barbara Noverini, CFA, director of investor relations, Morningstar, Inc. (Nasdaq: MORN). This is Noverini’s first year on the NIRI Chicago board; she also serves as the chapter’s advocacy ambassador.

Victoria Sivrais, founding partner, Clermont Partners. Sivrais is a member of the NIRI national board, chaired the 2018 NIRI annual conference committee and was a member of the 2016 and 2015 annual conference committees. She previously was NIRI Chicago’s chairman, president, executive vice president, programs co-chair, treasurer and IR Workshop chair.

Ruth E. Venning, IRC, executive director, investor relations, Horizon Therapeutics plc (NASDAQ: HZNP). Venning has served in every NIRI Chicago leadership position, most recently, as treasurer. She is chair-elect on the NIRI national board, a NIRI Senior Roundtable member and a former NIRI annual conference committee member.

Heather J. Wietzel, IRC, vice president of investor relations and enterprise communications, Horace Mann (NYSE: HMN). This is Wietzel’s second year on the NIRI Chicago board. She earlier served as president of the NIRI Cincinnati Tri-State chapter.

NIRI National Recognition

Elizabeth Higashi, CFA, vice president of investor relations, Herc Holdings Inc. (NYSE: HRI), was named to the 2020 NIRI Fellows class in April in recognition of her leadership, integrity, involvement and contributions to the investor relations profession.
