Kelowna, BC - TheNewswire - March 17, 2023 - Pushor Mitchell donates $25,000 to the BC Cancer Foundation to fund a chemotherapy chair as part of a $6.1 million campaign for a new, state-of-the-art systemic therapy suite at BC Cancer – Kelowna.  The long tenured Okanagan firm is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2023 by continuing their support and commitment to their local communities.  “Making a difference in a meaningful way is one of the most important values we live by,” says Joni Metherell, Managing Partner for Pushor Mitchell LLP.  “Cancer has impacted our team over the years and our support of the new therapy suite is an opportunity to make a difference for those we know, and others in our community who have been affected”.

Systemic therapy is a large group of drug treatments that include chemotherapy, an essential part of cancer care. The new systemic therapy suite will increase treatment capacity by 40% and bring new clinical trials to the Interior.  

The BC Cancer Foundation is the largest philanthropic funder of cancer research and care in the province, and recently launched a historic $500 million campaign to transform and enhance care across British Columbia. Nearly 6,000 new cancer cases are diagnosed in the Interior each year and the majority of these patients will require systemic therapy during their journey.
