A Snapshot of Helena, Montana

Helena, Montana, is the state capital and home to Carroll College, which Toby-Jeanne graduated from, and a Human Rights Commission for the state that Curt Almy is a member of, which brings him to town quite often. It’s also home to a few small towns with plenty of attractions for tourists as well! If you’re planning a trip to Montana, Helena and its surrounding towns shouldn’t be missed.

If you love charming towns that are surrounded by mountains, and the Yellowstone series, then Helena, Montana, is an ideal destination for any fan of the hit TV show. Located in the majestic Rocky Mountains, Helena offers breathtaking views and unique activities for visitors to explore.

From exploring the area’s natural beauty to taking in the rich history of the town, Helena has something for everyone. Visitors can also take advantage of the many outdoor activities the town has to offer, such as fishing, hiking, and camping. Hamilton and Missoula: What to See and Do

Located in Ravalli County, Hamilton is a historic small town that was an important part of the Yellowstone season 5 filming locations. Settled in 1881, it has a unique western charm with its excellent restaurants, shops, and galleries, as well as its natural beauty. It’s home to the Bitterroot River, a popular spot for fly fishing, and the nearby Bitterroot National Forest provides plenty of opportunities for camping, hiking, and other outdoor activities. Hamilton is a great place to experience a piece of the American West and is sure to provide an unforgettable experience. The mansion of the historical Copper king Marcus Daly, is just one of several historical sites in the area, which you should definitely add to your bucket list. (There have even been “yellowstone crew signs” at the location, take that for what you will!). There are also quaint, small businesses downtown such as “Pretty Little Things,” an adorable tiny shop that specializes in polygel nails. Historic Hamilton is just a short 40 minutes away via mountain pass, to Phillipsburg’s Gem Mountain, which provides an incredible family experience, exploring gemstone mining!

A short hour drive North of Hamilton, lies Missoula. Missoula is a vibrant city with plenty of unique attractions and activities, including the Historical Museum at Fort Missoula, the Missoula Art Museum, and numerous trails for mountain biking and hiking. Missoula is considered the “hippie central” of all things green living, so if you enjoy that culture this will be a fun town to stop and explore. With so much to do all around the state, there’s no shortage of fun in Montana.

Cat’s Claw Queen and Miss Montana?

Toby-Jeanne Almy, our very own Cat’s Claw Queen, made Montana proud when she won the title of World’s Miss Montana Tourism in 2018. So, naturally, when the time came for Cat’s Claw Fasteners to send representatives to Yellowstone season 5, Toby-Jeanne and Chava made the long trek to spread the word about the patented fence claws. At one point on set, a piece of rope continually came loose and Toby-Jeanne was able to give the crew a fence claw in order to secure the wayward rope. We made it on the “back end” of the set, maybe, just maybe they’ll like us enough to use one in a frame! 😉

Conclusion

Whether you’re a Yellowstone fan or just looking for a great vacation destination, Montana is the place to be. With its rolling hills and sweeping landscapes, it’s no wonder why Yellowstone chose it for their fifth season. From the iconic national parks to the small towns filled with local charm, Montana offers plenty of opportunities to explore and create memories that will last a lifetime. So don’t wait any longer and start planning your trip today! Got questions on how to make the most of a trip to the Big Sky State?
