The recently published survey asked newlywed couples who celebrated their nuptials in Greensboro over the last three years to rate their venue experience. Amongst those responding to the survey were those who had been rejected from other venues due to capacity or catering requirements, which could not be accommodated elsewhere. With six rentable spaces and on-site catering facilities, Meridian Convention Center has become known for its grand ballroom settings to suit every budget and guest lists — ranging from the intimate to the “otherwise impossible”.
“My family is huge, and my new husband’s is even bigger,” explained one bride who celebrated her nuptials last year with support from Meridian’s wedding planning services. “Big weddings are our tradition and we wanted over 560 guests at our wedding, but almost nowhere could accommodate us. I was beginning to think I’d have to abandon my dream for a classy ballroom wedding and try open-air venues instead, but then Meridian stepped in and made it happen. They were incredible.”
Meridian’s Barcelona Ballroom can accommodate over 600 guests in a banquet setting. Despite being one of the largest capacity wedding venues in the city, there is no compromise on style. The ballroom features eight, 32-bulb golden chandeliers which illuminate the 12,000sqft dance floor, and the venue’s rental decor packages can be deployed to add to the ambiance.
At the other end of the scale, the intimate Madrid Ballroom can host up to 100 guests in its 2,600 sqft space. This smaller venue offers the same level of elegance that Meridian was praised for in the recent survey; with six chandeliers and an optional modular stage area for entertainment.
