Section 8 — Other Events
Item 8.01 Other Events.
On June 24, 2008, FreightCar America, Inc. (the “Company”) announced that it had reached a
tentative settlement with representatives of the United Steelworkers of America (USWA) and the
plaintiffs in the Sowers/Hayden litigation.
The settlement is subject to ratification by the Johnstown USWA membership in a vote scheduled
to take place on Thursday, June 26th and to court approval.
A copy of the Company’s press release is attached as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form
8-K and is incorporated herein by reference.
