ANSELL LIMITED APPOINTS NEW DIRECTOR

 

Ansell Limited today announced the appointment to the Ansell Board of Mr Glenn Barnes with effect from 12 September 2005.

 

Mr Barnes’ appointment follows an international search commissioned by Ansell earlier this year in consideration of its Board succession planning and to augment the existing skills and geographic experience of the current Board.

 

Mr Barnes has been involved in manufacturing, banking and financial services for over 30 years as a senior executive and executive director in Australia and internationally, including the Asia Pacific region, the UK and USA. Mr Barnes, who resides in Melbourne, is Chairman of Baycorp Advantage Limited, a Director of Lion Nathan Limited and Chairman, Director and council member of a number of not-for-profit and private interest organisations.

 

In announcing Glenn Barnes’ appointment, Ansell’s Chairman, Mr Peter Barnes said “Glenn’s extensive international background and experience, which covers many of the regions in which Ansell operates, is a great fit with the expertise of our existing Board. We look forward to the perspectives he will provide as Ansell advances its global growth strategies.”
